th April, the Members of Parliament adopted the Equality bill, one year after its introduction to the House of Commons. Last step: the law will be sent to the Queen in order to request her agreement. (Ref. 100287)

The Labour Members of Parliament, pressed for the next election (6th May), had expressed their fear to see their Tory peers to postpone the adoption of the bill; but the Tories finally accepted it. The amendments that we mentioned earlier (see our dispatch n°100259 and 090474), such as
