The unions are not yet in formal merger talks Serwotka made clear in a recent interview with the Financial Times newspaper that he wanted to keep deepening the ‘ever closer developing relationship’ the two unions have formed since signing a co-operation agreement a year ago on working together from a common political perspective in order to fight the attacks being faced by public sector workers on their wages and pensions but also workers in general.
