Employees on zero hours contracts will have the freedom to find work with more than one employer. The ban of exclusivity clauses in these forms of employment - where no minimum working time or income is guaranteed - will be the key measure of a bill the government it going to introduce in Parliament in a few days.
Business Secretary Vince Cable has announced that the government will to ban exclusivity clauses in zero hours contracts. Zero hours contracts are believed to affect 1.4m workers. The ban will form part of the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Bill which has been introduced into Parliament. The clauses will be introduced into the Bill shortly.
