Great Britain: government maintains employees’ right to request time off to train but will review the policy in 2015

Context.  Since April 6, 2010, employees in businesses with 250+ people can ask their employer for time off to train during working time.  This right should have applied to businesses with less than 250 employees in April 2011.  However, on August 11, 2010, the government launched a consultation on the subject, thus suspending its implementation at the same time.  The consultation ended in September 2010, and the government gave an answer on this right introduced by the Labor administration on July 6, 2011.
