The CWU communications’ union has announced that negotiations have been successfully concluded with Parcelforce Worldwide over the impact of the new seven-day service on staff’s working conditions. Indeed, the company wants to introduce work on Sunday to guarantee deliveries on the weekends.
Founded in 1990 as a standalone subdivision by Royal Mail, Parcelforce Worldwide employs 4,500 staff at 53 depots. It has its central operational hub in Coventry and serves some 30,000 customers annually, processing 35m parcels.
