The Post Office, a state company, and the CWU communications union have agreed a new three year pay and conditions agreement for the 2,000 workers employed by the company in its Admin and Supply Chain function that manages the collection, handling and distribution of cash across the Post Office network’s 11,500 branches.
The agreement was preceded by a one day strike in mid-December and the notice of a further four one day strikes before and after Christmas. The strikes were called after lengthy talks to resolve the dispute broke down despite the involvement of the state conciliation and mediation service, ACAS.
