Last May, the government announced that it intended to extend the right to request flexible working to parents of children under the age of 16. It is now time for the consultation : how to inform employees of this right and help companies efficiently deal with the requests ? (Ref. 080667)
The consultation, launched on August 26, 2008 by the Secretary of State for Business and Enterprise, concerns employers, staff representatives, parents, trade unions or even organizations representing families. The aim is to raise awareness on employees’ right to request flexible working and inform employers about free tools designed to help them such as forms or advice available on BusinessLink.gov.uk. Reducing the paperwork for the management of requests will notably be addressed.
