More than 1,000 British businesses committed to paying the voluntary living wage threshold, which is much higher than the statutory minimum wage, will have to pay more again this year. The rise will be felt particularly in London where, going forward ,the living wage will be in excess of 9 pounds per hour.
The living wage for British over 21s was raised again this year reaching 7.85 pounds (10.04 euros) nationally for 2014-2015, up from 7.65 pounds (9.78 euros) last year.
