Great Britain: the temporary agency workers bill is moving on

Initiated by Andrew Miller, MP (see our dispatch No. 080159), the bill on equal treatment between permanent and temporary workers is going to pass through the Parliamentary Committee in the next few weeks. Engineers and IT technicians are still excluded from the field of application provided for in the bill. (Ref. 080368)

After a positive second reading in February
(147 to 11), the bill on temporary workers is going to be deeply analyzed when
going through the Lower House, after a debate and the adoption of amendments if
necessary. After this third step, which will happen some time in May, there
will be a third reading, and then the bill will be sent to the House of Lords
for other readings. In spite of the lobbying from the employers’ organization CBI,
