The Trade Union Congress federation has used its 151st annual congress that continues until 11 September 2019 as the forum from which to call for legislation prohibiting businesses from socio-economic class based discrimination. The trade union federation is also demanding that employers be required to publish any ‘class pay gaps’, indicative of pay differences based on socio-economic level.
Before making its call to government, the TUC sought to prove that those from the working classes are unfavorably treated within the UK’s labor force.
