The absenteeism of British employees in 2005 amounted to 164 million unjustified days (4 million less than in 2004). This is the lowest in 20 years, but the culture of the absenteeism persists in many companies and costs more than 13 billion Pounds to the economy (more than 19 billion Euros), according to the annual study conducted by the CBI, the main employers’ confederation.
