UK wages rose by a near 8-year record high of 2.7% between February and April compared with a year earlier.
In April, average UK weekly pay was 462 GBP (645€), (493 GBP (689€) including bonuses). Wages have risen 2.7% in inflation adjusted real terms from February to April, marking the highest real increase since October 2007. Nominal wage rates have also risen by 2.7% (excluding bonuses) compared with the same period last year, which makes this the highest nominal rise since February 2009. When bonuses are factored in, nominal pay also rose 2.7% making that the highest since August 2011.
