Some of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ campaign promises have been upheld. Measures combatting the ‘humanitarian crisis’ and coming to the aid of the most vulnerable are retained. For example, 300,000 families will still receive free electricity and free access to health care as well as food vouchers will be maintained. However the Minister for Finance took care to say that “these policies will be pursued without any negative fiscal effect”.
