This Wednesday the Greek Minister for Labor Panos Skourletis commenced consultations with the social partners the aim of which is to present, by the end of the month, the radical left-wing’s governments first labor market reforms.
The first three days of consultations have concluded with both employers and unions welcoming the “renewed social dialogue” coming after five years of silence. “We are exiting five dark years that have undermined labor law and we are entering a new phase,” declared the Labor Minister Panos Skourletis. “Contrary to previous governments who were operating from a position of austerity and who took unilateral decisions, social dialogue is actually very important for us,” he added.
