Malév, the national airline of Hungary, informed the staff representatives, on August 4, of a collective redundancy. This is the second major restructuring by the Hungarian Airlines since the privatization agreement was concluded in February 2007. (Ref. 080635)
On August 4, 2008 Malév (Hungarian Airlines) announced that it is planning to dismiss 400 employees and 100 agency workers, that is 21,6 % of its total workforce. The employer presented the measure as a means to save the jobs of the remaining 2.500 workers.
