Hungary : the telework should develop in the next years

More and more firms and companies use the advantages of teleworking according to the Ministry of Labor Affairs. The proportion of workers who telecommute can be easily duplicated in the next four years. In May 2004, regulations on telework were added to the Labour code with a view to improving the labour market position of various disadvantaged groups. (Ref. 06361)

In 2001 only 1 % of Hungarian employees were employed this way, nowadays the proportion is around 3-4 %. Experts agree that the tendency used to be the same in the European Union. A couple of years ago the proportion was around 3 % and currently it exceeds 10 %.
