Hungary: whistleblower protection law finally passed

The Hungarian has parliament passed a law to protect whistleblowers, some 16 months after the deadline to comply with the provisions of EU Directive 2019/1937. With the law adopted on 11 April, Hungary becomes the last EU member state to begin the process of transposing the EU whistleblower protection directive into national legislation, having been the subject of an appeal by the European Commission to the Court of Justice of the EU over the delay.
