In two years, the number of unemployed people with a university level has considerably increased: from 40 000 in December 2004 to 50 000 in December 2005. The unemployment rate of people 15-24 has increased from 16, 6% to 20,4% in a year, whereas the average for the EU is around 17,5%. Many employers hire youngsters with a university diploma for jobs that only require a secondary school diploma.
