In its semi-annual report on the "Prospects for the world economy", the international organization recommends to abolish collective agreements and the protection of employment, and to introduce more insecurity in work in order to support growth. Without surprise, the Anglo-Saxon model is glorified, France and Germany are stigmatized and the Scandinavian countries, whose economic performances are however recognized, are almost anecdotic. During the press conference presenting the IMF ’s semi-annual report on the world economy, which took place in Washington (USA) on last 19 April, Raghuram Rajan, senior economist, said that “a greater insecurity in work can be the price to pay to guarantee the maintenance of the European standard of living”. The IMF thus recommends to abolish the rules on job protection and to dismantle collective agreements.
