Trade unions rejected the redundancy plan which was presented to them by ING management. Nearly 71% of the members of the Federation of Dutch trade unions (FNV) voted against the plan negotiated, on 1 June 2006, between management and the work's Council. (Ref. 06773).
The plan, which had to be presented to trade unions, in accordance with the collective agreement of the financial sector, appears insufficient to FNV members and to the independent trade union De Unie. Both estimate that the financial compensations offered to workers are too sufficient.
