On May 2528, the representatives of 200 organizations from around 100 countries met in Gothenburg, Sweden, for the 32nd Congress of the International Metalworkers' Federation (IMF). In addition to the establishment of leadership representing global metallurgy more, the action program also includes calls from southern organizations for more protest action towards multinational businesses. Management reflects emerging components. The Presidency of the international trade union organization was given to Berthold Huber, leader of the German IG Metall, the only indisputable and undisputed candidate for the job.
