Unveiled on 27 September, the Remote Alliance is aiming to develop a new model for the way people work in Ireland. The four companies that make up the alliance – telecommunications giant Vodafone, electricity company ESB as well as eBay and Liberty Insurance – have committed to making remote working a long-term fixture across their respective businesses. They are also hoping to encourage other Irish businesses to follow suit.
According to the social enterprise Grow Remote, which seeks to promote remote working, the Remote Alliance aims to “build an Ireland where employment is accessible no matter where people live”. To this end, Grow Remote plans to provide practical advice and support to the four members of the alliance.
