In a press release on 9 October, the interior design giant – part of the Ingka Group – announced that it will pay its employees in Ireland a living wage of €14.80 an hour from January, up from the current level of €13.85, marking an increase of 6.9%. This is a wage level that the government has set at 60% of the median wage and which is to gradually replace the national minimum wage (€12.70 an hour from January 1) by 2026.
