During his 2024 budget speech on 10 October, Irish finance minister Michael McGrath announced an increase in the statutory minimum wage, which will take effect from 1 January next year. It will rise from €11.30 to €12.70 gross per hour, an increase of 12%, for employees aged 20 and over. The figure will stand at €12.70 for young workers aged 20 and over, €11.43 for those aged 19, €10.16 for those aged 18 and €8.89 for those under the age of 18.
