Italian multi-utility group Acea, which manages electricity, gas and water distribution in Rome, the trade unions Filctem-Cgil, Flaei-Cisl, Uiltec and the autonomous trade unions have just signed two significant agreements: the first reduces working hours by half an hour a week for employees in the gas and water sectors, while the second provides greater protection for workers in the supply chain.
The agreement signed on 24 October standardises working hours within the Acea group. From 1 January 2024, all employees will work a 38-hour week. This was already the case for employees covered by the electricity collective agreement, but not for those covered by the “gas and water” collective agreement, whose hours were set at 38 and a half per week.
Acea and the unions also signed a memorandum of understanding on 20 October to better protect workers in the supply chain. Calls for tender...
