Italy: agreement for maintaining temporary worker positions at the Melfi Fiat Chrysler Automobile plant
Temporary employment agencies that supply the Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) plant at Melfi together with the unions have come to an agreement over continuing employing temporary staff. It includes a guarantee that when their contracts come to term temporary staff will form part of a single dedicated employment pool and will have the opportunity to undertake training should they not be immediately re-employed. Unions have indicated that they wish to replicate this agreement in other “areas where there are large concentrations of insecure employment” so as to consolidate the country’s employment landscape.
