…Italy: CGIL and UIL unions set general strike for December 12
Friday December 12 is the day when both the CGIL and UIL go out on strike together marking a first after a long period when they pursued separate aims. Their motto “this won’t do” refers to the Jobs Act and the Stability law that together encompass the Renzi government’s policy, and that in the unions' opinion weakens workers’ rights and working conditions. The programmed 8 hour action will affect all sectors both public and private with the exception of printing services (Poligrafici) so as to enable press information and visibility for the strike. The strike will be supported by various demonstrations in the main towns and cities throughout the country.
