The modalities for consulting workers about the single text on employee representation – signed by the 3 union confederations and Confindustria and Conservizi for employers, which reforms collective bargaining rules – is once again a bone of contention between the CGIL and its metal federation (Fiom). Following pressure from the latter, the CGIL is the only organization to consult its members about the agreement negotiated in January. Unhappy with the consultation’s modalities, with allegedly little room for a critical view, the Fiom announced that it would organize its own consultation for all metalworkers.
Consultation according to the CGIL. Following pressure from the Fiom (see article No. 8171), the CGIL’s steering committee approved, on February 26, the modalities for consulting its members on the single union representation text.
