On 21 February, the ANCE and COOP business organisations and the Feneal-UIL, Filca-CISL and Fillea-CGIL trade unions signed a deal to renew the collective agreement for the construction industry. This covers around 1 million workers, whether they are employed by large companies or the many cooperatives operating in the sector. The agreement includes improvements on occupational safety and training, as well as mechanisms to ensure greater transparency in subcontracting, a particularly important point due to the persistence of undeclared work in the sector.

The agreement, valid from 1 February 2025 to 30 June 2028, also confirms the average wage increase of €180 on which the social partners agreed on 28 January. It will be distributed in three instalments: €80 from 1st February 2025, €50 in March 2026 and €50 in March 2027.
