Announcing a turnout "beyond all expectations" for the strike on Friday, October 19, telecom unions warned the Asstel employers' organization that the renewal of the national collective agreement will have to include the "social clauses on employment requested by the bargaining delegation," or the conflict will worsen. Negotiations for the renewal of the telecom CCN were suspended on September 26 after three days of talks. The trade unions said it was because the Asstel employers’ organization refused to introduce “social clauses protecting workers involved in subcontracting and outsourcing,” thus opening a “hard” conflict in the sector.
