Italy: electricity social partners renew national collective agreement with a unitary agreement

“This is a major outcome, achieved thanks to the resoluteness of union organizations which, during these months of difficult negotiations with employers’ organizations and businesses in the sector, never doubted that it was possible to reach a good agreement, following the sector’s best traditions.” This is how the Filcem, Flaei and Uilcem secretary presented the unitary agreement for the renewal of the collective agreement in electricity, signed in Rome on March 5, after more than seven months of talks, three separate platforms and in a context of economic crisis and lower demand in electricity. The new CCN affects nearly 60,000 employees from more than 130 businesses and will soon be subject, “unitarily,” to workers’ vote before being permanently ratified by April 12. Here are its key points.
