Italy: Fillea, the CGIL building industry federation held its XVIIth national congress

Commitment to the « law ». The union commits itself to relaunch the campaign against the “caporalato” (illegal form of labour exploitation), widely spread in the country, so that it could be legally acknowledged as a crime similar to the human beings trade and requires the government to intensify the fight against Mafias. Further to the demand for increased sanctions, Fillea incites the employers’associations to exclude the companies using this procedure.

Fillea-CGIL held its XVIIth congress in the Abruzzes region (Aquila and Montesilvano on the eve of the first anniversary of the earthquake in the region) from 30th to 1st April with the aim of building a “strong, modern trade union, able to listen, to act, and to be at the workers’side”.
