Give an “identity, a single voice and joint, therefore stronger, representativeness” to small and medium-size enterprises to “modernize the representation of businesses to modernize the Italian economy and society.” This is how R.eTe- Imprese Italia, the new employers’ organization for SMEs, was officially presented, on May 10th in Rome. Created by Confcommercio, Confartigianato, Cna Confesercenti, and Casartigiani to have a single voice during institutional negotiations, this organization is the result of the “Capranica Pact,” named after the Roman theater where the founding organizations met in 2006 against the measures of the Finance Act of the Prodi administration affecting all sectors.
Presented in Rome this week, the new unitary employers’ alliance for SMEs, R.eTe- Imprese Italia (Business Network Italy) was created by the five key employers’ organizations in craftsmanship, trade, services, tourism and small construction businesses. It changes the face of employers’ representation in Italy, extending the system of dialog, which was, until now, confined to the government, the Confindustria employers’ organization and the trade unions.
