On 19 November, management at DHL Express Italy together with the Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl and Uiltrasporti trade unions signed a national framework agreement that aims to regulate abusive recourse to suppliers and to align working and salary conditions throughout the DHL Express network in Italy by eliminating differences in treatment between the group's direct employees and indirect subcontracted workers (warehouse professionals, drivers, distribution staff, etc.). The agreement must now be approved by the company’s workers’ assemblies.
Regulating subcontracting. In the agreement’s preamble DHL undertakes to reduce the number of suppliers used, in order to focus on “more structured and reliable” partners. Day-to day management of DHL’s logistics operations, deliveries, freight forwarding, goods handling, distribution, and warehouses will be assigned exclusively to companies employing salaried staff and applying the logistics sector national collective agreement (c.f. article No.10482).
