Italy: from theoretical to practical application of the reform of the conventional system

New provisional index. The new reference index to define wages – the central element of the separate agreement on the reform of the conventional system rejected by the CGIL (see our dispatch No. 090419) – was published on may 30 by the Economic Study and Analysis Institute, which answers to the Ministry of Finance. This new provisional index is based on the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Italy, minus the evolution of imported energy prices for 2009-12. It launches the permanent application of the reform of the conventional system.
