“Unite your struggles.” It is under this slogan that Rete di Base (RdB), Sindacato dei Lavoratori (SdL) and several units of the Confederazione Unitaria di Base (Cub) created the new Association of Basic Unions – the Unione Sindacale di Base, USB. Over 600 representatives from the public and private sector, representing the approximately 250,000 members of these unions, took part in the establishing congress held in Rome between May 21st and May 23rd. other independent unions, such as Snater (telecommunications and RAI) and Or.S.A (transportation) took part in the congress and said they would join later.
