Last week Lavazza announced it was looking to overhaul company agreements, in place since 1972, at its principal premises, the ‘historic’ Settimo Torinese factory. This is to make way for the new organizational model carrying “greater production flexibility” that has been implemented in three other factories in the group. The union spoke out against this move and promised “wide reaching and well organized” action.
During its meeting with unions last week at the Settimo Torinese site, Lavazza announced it was going to do away with the collective agreements that have been in place since 1972 and that cover some 800 employees at the factory and offices in Turin.
