75.13% voted "yes". This is the result of the referendum organized the Fim-Cisl, Fiom-Cgil and Uilm-Uil unions on the draft agreement for the renewal of the metal sector's national agreement signed by the employers' confederations Federmeccanica-Assistal (Confindustria), Unionmeccanica (Confapi) and the association of cooperative undertakings (see our articles No. 080080 and No. 080051). Nonetheless, the "no" won in two southern regions. (Ref. 080173)
Over 550.000 metalworkers took part in the referendum for the agreement on the renewal of the sector’s national collective agreement, signed on January 20 (see our articles No. 070125, 070946, 070906, 070820, and 080029). In total, the referendum mobilized half the Italian metalworkers; these results please the Fim, Fiom and Uilm unions, which highlighted that this participation rate is one of the highest compared to the last consultations on national collective agreements.
