With business booming across Italy’s construction sector due, both to the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) for infrastructure and other major works as well as tax incentives geared to modernizing the private sector building stock, on 03 March the sector’s social partners signed an agreement renew their national collective agreement (NCA), which covers around 1 million workers. In a bid to tackle illegal unregulated work and to promote the most virtuous companies, this NCA focuses on training, and in particular as pertains to improving site safety and ‘green building’ techniques.
The philosophy driving the agreement reached by the employers’ organizations ANCE and Alleanza delle cooperative and the Fillea-Cgil, Filca-Cisl and Feneal-Uil trade unions is the revival and modernisation of one of Italy’s economically strategic sectors by making construction jobs safer and more attractive. The new collective agreement (NCA), which still requires approval by the employees’ assemblies, is set to run until 30 June 2024.
Training and safety. Training is at the core of the new NCA.
