Italy: Parliament permanently approves emergency measures to revive employment and the economy

In early August, the Parliament permanently approved the law transposing the decree on emergency measures to promote employment which provides, among other things, for hiring incentives.  The Parliament also approved the law transposing the “Action” decree to revive the economy, including the “simpler” provisions of the Single text on security at work which had led to union protest.  (Ref.  130517)

Boosting employment. Permanently approved by the Parliament on August 8, the law transposing decree-law No. 76/2013 (see articles No. 130435 and 130448) confirms the incentives to permanent recruitment for “disadvantaged” youngsters aged 18-29 (those who have been unemployed for at least 6 months and without a high-school degree). It also introduces a social contribution exemption, limited to €650 per worker for 18 months (12 months when a fixed-term contract is made permanent), and €1,950
