On March 10, Confindustria, CGIL, Cisl and Uil in Bergamo signed a “general protocol for the development of the territory,” to strengthen competitiveness while increasing flexibility and employment in businesses affiliated with Confindustria – though the signing parties hope to extend it to other sectors as well. One of the 5 guidelines is the recruitments of youngsters with increased and variable flexibility within a more “secure” framework for fixed-term and permanent contracts.
The protocol signed in Bergamo on March 10 aims to support and valorize, as much as possible, the slight revival in industrial production observed in the province in the beginning of the year (+1.4 percent in January compared with 2013). Ercole Galizzi, leader of Confindustria Bergamo, explained that, to that end, “the protocol adds new elements to maximize growth, focusing especially on young people” – youth unemployment has reached 25 percent.
