Fillea CGIL, Filca-Cisl, and Feneal Uil (unions) and the Federmaco employers’ organization signed a unitary agreement on February 18 to renew the national collective agreement in cement, lime and plaster, affecting over 12,000 employees. Fillea’s secretary Mauro Livi rejoiced that, with the worst crisis since 1929, “with a 20% drop in cement orders in 2009 and an anticipated 10% drop this year,” the employers’ organization pursued, with the trade unions, the objective of a “unitary and positive solution.” The agreement, enforced today, March 1, 2010, until December 31, 2012, will be subject to workers’ vote soon.
