On November 27, 2007, leaders from the employers' organisation Confindustria and general secretaries from the Cgil, Cisl and Uil unions met in Rome for a first discussions about the reform of the collective bargaining system. Confindustria’s vice-president, Alberto Bombassei, said that the November 27 meeting was a “positive sign”. For this first “topical outline” aiming at reforming the Italian collective bagaining system, the employers’ federation welcomed in its premises the general secretaries of the three main unions: Guglielmo Epifani (Cgil), Raffaelle Bonanni (Cisl) and Luigi Angeletti (Uil).
