On 15 October, employers’ bodies Federchimica and Farmindustria, together with the unions, Filctem-CGIL, Femca-Cisl, and Uiltec-Uil, renewed the national collective agreement (NCA) for the period 2016-2018 in the chemical, pharmaceutical, chemical fibers, abrasives, lubricants and LPG sector, affecting 171,000 workers and some 3,000 businesses. New to the agreement is the intention to markedly bolster company negotiation and workers’ participation in training. Workers will vote on the agreement before the end of November 2015.
Economic provisions. On average wage minima will rise €90 (for category D1, skilled workers) and paid in three tranches (€45 on 01 January 2017, €35 on 01 January 2018, and €15 on 01 December 2018) the October 2015 rise in minima wages is this time replaced by an extra payment (to be made until 31 December 2016) in order to smooth the difference between the forecasted inflation rate that went into the original wage rise calculation and the actual observed inflation rate.
