Italy: the city of Milan and unions sign an agreement on continuous dialogue

After the center-left won the municipal election last may, the Italian economic capital is launching a new season of union relations, with the watchwords “Dialogue, involvement, sharing.”  Mayor Giuliano Pisapia (Democratic Party) and the general secretaries of the Milan unites of the CGIL (Onorio Rosati), Cisl (Danilo Galvani) and Uil (Walter Galbusera) signed, on October 24th, a memorandum of understanding which, among other things, creates “four permanent tables open to all social, institutional and economic players” for a constant exchange on the town’s policies which affect economic development and work, social protection, “spaciousness” and the environment, with particular “transverse attention to gender policies.”  An assessment meeting will take place once a year.
