“Deeply negative judgment.” This is how the central committee of the Fiom, gathered on October 20, summarized its point of view on the agreement for the renewal of the CCN signed on October 15 by Federmeccanica, the Fim and the Uilm (see our dispatch No. 090945). Unanimously approved, the final document notably criticizes the new calculation of the wage increase which would go back on “a historical victory for metalworkers regarding wage increases” and lead to “a planned reduction of wages’ real value.” For instance, with the new CCN, 3rd-rate workers (including chain workers and call-center operators) will receive an increase below €15 for the first year. It also stigmatizes the creation of a national equal organization with extended competencies with which a 2/3rd majority is required to adopt decisions, which would mean that the Fim, Uilm and Federmeccanica would always have a majority. The Fiom also qualifies of “intolerable” the amendment of part-time regulations, which have become “an element for collective flexibility and not a voluntary individual right.”
