In an interview published in the last issue of the Espresso, under the title, “What Pomigliano is teaching us,” she says that Sicilian workers’ rejecting the restructuring program proposed by the Italian carmaker (see our dispatch No. 100480) shows that they aren’t ready to accept lesser benefits in spite of the crisis. Thus, the union has to “set clear boundaries” with local bargaining. In this respect, the “Pomigliano lesson” increases the union’s role.
