On 10 December the social partners in the rubber and plastics sectors concluded an agreement to renew the national collective agreement for the period from 01 January 2016 until 31 December 2018, covering almost 140,000 workers and 5,500 businesses (including Pirelli, Michelin, Bridgestone, and Prysmian). In addition to a total average wage rise of €83, the partners also agreed on a new provision to undertake an annual check on changes in inflation when addressing wage rises, revising provisions over the labor market, and bolstering social protection. The agreement now goes for consultation by the sectors’ workers.
Economics. The agreement was signed on 10 December by the employers’ bodies, Federazione Gomma-Plastica and Associazione Italiana Ricostruttori Pneumatici, and the unions, Filctem-CGIL, Femca-Cisl, and Uiltec-Uil. It provides for an on average total wage rise of €83, including rises in minimum wages, a €2 rise in night shift pay and €5.75 for supplementary insurance.
