On 03 November, and with a large majority, Italy’s Senate adopted Draft Law 2233 that focuses on both measures protecting independent workers and, for the first time, on the definition of Smart Working (flexible working time and work-places). The text still has to go before the Chamber of Deputies, but few modifications are expected to result.
Labor Minister Giulano Paoletti welcomed this first step in terms of the adoption of a text that is ‘innovative and highly significant, one that treats how the means of production is evolving, and one that completes the Jobs Act labor reforms, with the goal of supporting and recognizing independent non-entrepreneurial work as well as improving employees’ quality of life.”
