Transport unions and TNT signed the first agreement for insourcing handling operations in Italy. It is based on the protocol signed in February by the sector’s unions and employers’ organization, which believed insourcing activities was a way to prevent the numerous disputes independent unions organized against poor working conditions with subcontractors. In return, businesses get more flexibility to adjust the working conditions of these insourced workers.
Put an end to recent conflicts. On July 16, TNT Global Express Spa and the Filt-CGIL, Fit Cisl and Uil Trasporti unions signed an agreement to insource handling operations (“ribalta” – receiving and sending merchandise in a warehouse). With this agreement, the signing parties are transposing the protocol on guidelines for the new system for receiving and sending merchandise, which used to be contracted out, where poor working conditions led to major disputes organized by independent unions...
